Vacancies in Germany

Could you be an AFF Trustee?

The Army Families Federation (AFF) is an independent charity that works to help communication between the Army and its families. AFF is governed by a Board of Trustees, which includes a trustee from each of the Branches (Cyprus and Germany).

AFF Germany is currently looking for a Branch Trustee to represent them on the AFF Board of Trustees.

What is the Trustee role?

Trustees are volunteers who take overall responsibility for the direction of the charity and act collectively to govern the organisation.

This includes setting the overall strategy for AFF and ensuring an operating plan is produced that enables AFF to meet its objectives. Trustees also work to ensure that there is sound financial management and that employees are properly managed. Trustees are not involved in the management of the charity.

AFF Trustees follow the good practice guide of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO).

There are three trustee meetings a year, usually held in the UK, with reading and e-mail contact in-between.

Skills and experience

What we look for in a trustee is someone who can both represent the military community that they are currently living in (i.e. Germany) and those who have specialist skills or knowledge that they can bring to help AFF.
